From the Classroom to Spain - And Back

My journey with Spanish began at Horizon High School and continued at The University of Arizona, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Spanish Literature. I then completed a post-degree in Education at Northern Arizona University, equipping me with the teaching tools to turn language learning into a meaningful and lasting experience.

I spent ten years teaching here in the Valley, helping students build confidence and fluency in Spanish. Then life took me on an incredible adventure — I moved to Barcelona.

For 25 years, I immersed myself fully in Spanish culture. I worked as a certified ESL teacher and expanded my professional experience while living the language every single day — not just in the classroom, but in markets, cafés, neighborhoods, and through friendships and family. Along the way, I met my husband and built a life deeply rooted in authentic Spanish culture.

Now, I'm back in Scottsdale and excited to share everything I've learned with students who want more than just vocabulary lists and grammar drills.
